Reminder: Renew your QACSC and LPSP!!
Attention: All QACSCs and LPSPs need to be renewed online at www.alrenewals.org by 12/31/15 for the year 2016. Do not delay!**
-If you took the initial 12-hour CME for these certificates, you must take the 4-hour Opioid/REMs training before you renew. So if you took your initial course in 2013, you must take the 4-hour update before you renew.
-There are two opportunities available next month so register now! Our own NPAA is offering this 4-hour update at its 9th Annual Conference at Ross Bridge, Birmingham, November 13th from 1-5pm. You can register for this by going to firstname.lastname@example.org. The cost is FREE if you are a member of the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama; otherwise, it is $125.
MASA is also offering the 4-hour Course Sunday, November 22nd, at The Westin Hotel in Huntsville; register at www.masalink.org.
*Another item that has been brought to our attention is that once you have a QACSC, it is important to keep an active, state certificate so that your DEA stays ACTIVE. If you are going to be changing collaborations, it is advisable not to terminate the current collaboration until the new CP and QACSC is in place. Please communicate with your office managers and Collaborating physicians also that the terminations with the BME and the ABN are coordinated. If you have any questions regarding this, call Amy Wybenga CRNP or Pat Ward RN at #334-956-0307 or #334-833-0186.
